Canadians are being fed a false story by the media about the climate crisis — one in which fossil fuel companies are somehow climate champions, the TMX pipeline is necessary, and where the biggest thing you should worry about during a heat wave is what kind of perfume you should wear.

This coverage is hoodwinking the public into believing that tinkering around the edges, or relying on fantastical, unproven technologies to drive down polluting emissions will be enough to prevent climate catastrophe. Even when climate experts say the opposite.

Canada’s largest media outlets are failing Canadians on climate. We deserve better.

We’ve got an exciting plan to launch a mock newspaper that reports on the climate crisis as it should — with honest analysis of the Liberals’ climate record, and truthful reporting that calls out big oil’s hypocrisy for creating this disaster and leaving us to clean up this mess.

Our design is ready to be sent to the press, and Leadnow volunteers are preparing to hand out a flurry of newspapers in their cities and towns to start honest conversations with people across Canada about the climate crisis. All we need is $13,241 to get our newspaper printed and launched.
