JOB POSTING: Campaigns Manager

Role Description
Reporting to the Campaigns Director, the Campaigns Manager will take our campaigning to the next level by identifying campaign moments, writing and launching campaigns, and working with the rest of our campaigns team to deepen engagement and ensure our campaigns have growing impact. This position will have a special focus on running rapid response campaigns.  Working with senior staff, the Campaign Manager will also help set the strategic direction and campaign priorities of the organization, and work to develop Leadnow’s communication and framing strategy to align with our strategic goals.

Salary
$55,000 - full time, permanent position, unionized with BCGEU

Requirements
  • Strong strategic, creative and innovative thinking with independent problem-solving skills
  • Experience crafting strategy and communications, particularly in a campaign context
  • Exceptional writing, editing and communication abilities in an advocacy or campaigning context
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and rapidly developing young organization
  • Experience working with data and analytics, particularly in an advocacy context
  • Campaign management experience, project management, experience in supervising staff, as well as strong facilitation skills
  • Tech savvy, familiar with online collaboration tools such as Googledocs, Slack, etc.
  • Resilient in the face of new and evolving challenges

Tasks & Responsibilities
Overall Campaigns Leadership
  • Ensure Leadnow establishes its place as the most innovative campaigning organization in Canada by visioning, executing and evaluating campaign priorities for Leadnow
  • Help to oversee the development and execution of campaigns to meet the priorities and KPI’s (growth, fundraising, engagement and impact) of the organization
  • Identify, develop, and train the team on best practices to improve the quality and speed of our rapid response campaign delivery
  • Ensure that campaigners are provided with constructive feedback and learning opportunities to continue to strengthen their work
  • Coordinate data-driven and qualitative evaluation of campaigns
  • Lead and facilitate campaign-related meetings, as required

Manage fast, effective implementation of campaigns
  • Draft campaign communications and emails that are well-researched, effectively messaged and speak to issues the Leadnow.ca community cares about
  • Manage campaign staff and contractors and coordinate the rapid response team to execute high quality campaigns
  • Coordinate with graphic designers to promote strong images for each campaign
  • Work with Leadnow.ca organizers and volunteers to coordinate on-the-ground actions related to rapid response campaigns
  • Ensure high quality work and assess and mitigate risk of potential and ongoing campaigns
Craft campaign and organizational strategy
  • Stay on top of current events and work with the rapid response team to identify key moments for effective campaigns that advance KPIs (impact, growth, engagement, fundraising)
  • Seek opportunities to deepen our campaigning through follow-up actions, such as letters to the editor, phone banking, postering, rallies, etc.
  • Help to shape the overall strategic development of the organization, and at times take responsibility for recruitment, team building and special projects
  • Help to develop Leadnow’s communication and framing strategy to align with our strategic goals, and support the campaigns team in crafting effective messages.
