I'm writing to urge you to raise your party’s ambition, to ensure a just and climate-safe future for all.

Scientists say the next few years are critical in the fight against the climate crisis. Meanwhile, Canada's wealth has soared even as we've allowed inequality to grow. Canadian billionaires increased their wealth by $78 billion during the pandemic alone.

We need an urgent transition away from fossil fuels, and a basic income to make sure everyone can meet their basic needs through the climate crisis and beyond. We need leaders with the courage to:

- Invest in a climate safe economic transformation at a minimum of 2% of GDP per year
- Empower and resource local and Indigenous communities to lead their transitions
- Fund training and low-carbon job creation to prepare workers, including those who work in oil and gas, for a new and more inclusive economy
- Provide a permanent, guaranteed liveable basic income to support families and communities to meet their needs through the climate crisis and beyond

Your party’s commitments will inform my vote on September 20th.
