BREAKING: Ford just fired the only person holding him accountable: Brad Blair, the chief of the Ontario Police, who raised the alarm about Ford keeping a $50K van off the books, and trying to make his unqualified drinking buddy Ron Taverner the head of police. [1][2] Media and experts are flagging it as political interference. [3]
 
This is a move from a dictator’s handbook. If Ontario’s police force is corrupted and used as a political tool for the Ford government, any chance of holding Ford or his government accountable disappears.
 
The rule of law and respect for the authority of police are cornerstones of conservative ideology, so you can bet this is causing ripple effects in the already strained PC caucus [4]-- and alienating their conservative base. If we can ramp up the pressure with a huge petition to PC MPPs, we could cause a fracture.
 
We know the police force is flawed, but when governments use them for their own gain, society could spiral in chaos. Will you sign this petition to PC MPPs, demanding they denounce Ford’s political interference in the Ontario office of the police?
